- Take advantage of the space under your hanging clothes

- Wicker and canvas baskets to the rescue!
Perhaps you’ve added a shelving unit into your closet. The next step is to organize items on those shelves. A great way to do this is by adding canvas or wicker baskets to the shelves, filling them with accessories, easy-to-fold items like tees and leggings, or pretty much anything else you might need stored. These baskets are easy to coordinate with any decor, and come in a wide range of sizes. And you can easily attach labels to these baskets, ensuring you always can tell what’s inside!
- Double up your hanging capacity
This solution is similar to the addition of shelves or racks below your hanging clothes, but instead helps add more hanging space for garments that need to be stored that way.
Basically, you’ll simply be adding a second level of hanging space to your closet. You can move your existing hanging rod up to make even more room for things hanging below. All you need to do is add a second rod to your closet below the current one, leaving enough space for your clothes to hang. And, voila! You have twice the hanging space in your closet!
- Make use of your closet door
It’s likely a place you wouldn’t think too much about - the back of your closet door. However, when trying to get the most out of your storage area, no space should be left unused!
In that case, try turning the back of your closet door into an area to store shoes and accessories with ease. Achieve this by installing a towel bar on the back of your closet door, which makes it super easy to hang shoes or other items off of. To really make this work, hang accessories like ties, scarves, and belts on a hanger using shower curtain hooks or rings.
First, place the rings on the bottom rung of any hanger. Then, put the accessories through the curtain rings. You now have an organized way to store your accessories, and it only takes up the space that one hanging garment would!
