Kohl’s is proud of its presence in historically significant Medford, Massachusetts―conveniently located in Meadow Glen Shopping Center on Route 16 near Interstate 93.
Founded in 1630, Medford can trace its legacy back to the earliest days of the 13 original United States colonies. In fact, Medford is the fourth oldest English settlement in the Americas! The town’s name is believed to be derived from the words “meadow” and “ford,” a telling linguistic clue to the importance of the scenic Mystic River that flows through the heart of the town.
Today, the riverside is home to the beautiful Mystic River State Reservation. Early in the town’s history, however, the scene along the river’s banks would have been quite different. That’s because the town of Medford was known for its prolific and masterful schooner manufacturing industry. But that’s not the only reason folks knew of Medford! Medford was one of the original destinations of Paul Revere when he made his daring midnight ride to warn of advancing British troops during the American Revolutionary War.
These days it’s a little easier to move between Medford and the heart of Boston. The Medford Kohl’s is just a five mile drive from the heart of downtown. Not in the mood to fight the traffic? No problem. You can easily get to the Kohl’s department store in Medford via public transit. Simply take the MBTA Orange Line to the 134 Bus, and you’ll arrive at the Meadow Glen Shopping Center in just minutes. Don’t forget your back-to-school shopping, either. Tufts University students are always pleased to discover that the Medford Kohl’s is less than two miles from campus.
Come visit the Kohl’s Medford location today, and enjoy an experience that is thoroughly contemporary and yet still nestled in the rich history of our great nation.
